The Differences in our Body Services

"What is the difference in all of your body wraps?"

A great question we received; we do have so many different kinds of body wraps. Whilethe process is generally the same, you will lose as many as 4-15 inches all-over in one wrap; however, the formula of each wrap is different. Heavily concentrated muds, oils and creams are developed by our skilled herbalist, Nalini, right here in the day spa that are filled with the nutrients and minerals you need to heal your skin and body. The purpose of a body wrap is not only for inch-loss and toning, but also to detox, stimulate blood circulation, and break up lymphatic for proper drainage.

It should be noted that no matter what you do in life to cure something, it takes a series (and dedication) of treatments or medicine to heal. You can't expect to eat a single healthy salad out of many unhealthy meals, and hope for it to make even a big difference, right?

Aloe Vera Detox body wrap is designed for detoxing and healing, while also, ridding the body of cellulite and reducing stretch marks. Aloe Vera has been named by ancient Egyptians "the plant of immortality" and was used for centuries to heal burns and soothe the skin; moreover, people have drank Aloe Vera Juice to cleanse and detoxify the body.

Aloe Vera contains Vitamin A, C and E, as well as B-12 which will all aid in anti-oxidants and protect cells from damaging free radicals. Aloe vera is also a powerful anti-inflammatory. Aloe very contains vital minerals for the body. The gel contains at least nine minerals needed to make enzyme systems and metabolism function properly. Among the standouts in aloe vera are calcium, the key component in bones, teeth and cell signaling; zinc, selenium and magnesium, all essential for as many as 300 metabolic functions; and chromium, which enhances the insulin that provides cells with energy. Aloe vera also contains copper, manganese, potassium, and sodium.

Sea Clay (Seaweed) body wrap will help to pull and tighten loose skin. This process helps to reduce the appearance of cellulite and draws toxins from the body. Dead skin prevents your body from absorbing moisture. While you sweat during a seaweed wrap, not only are toxins removed from the body, but dead skin is loosened as well. The seaweed itself is full of proteins, vitamins, minerals and lipids that easily soak into the skin to add moisture. Over time, your skin loses the ability to stretch and return to normal. This can lead to stretch marks and wrinkles.

Seaweed contains anti-oxidants, essential fatty acids and vitamin A, all of which can help to rebuild elasticity. It also makes your skin more supple by increasing blood flow to its surface, regenerates damaged skin cells, produces collagen to firm and tone the skin, and reduces the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.

Coffee body wrap is a body wrap with a coffee formula. Caffeine combats poor circulation by increasing the speed and volume of blood flow. When someone suffers from poor circulation, the body cannot get rid of toxins and excess water. Caffeine’s ability to increase circulation, even when applied topically, can help stop water retention. Water retention can cause fat to be pushed against the skin, emphasizing the lumpy appearance. With regular use caffeine gives the skin a more toned and firm appearance – rather like the results of exercise. This also helps to reduce the appearance of cellulite.

Body Brushing is not a body wrap but is usually followed by a body wrap. It's as strange as it sounds... body brushing is the same as brushing your hair. Not only does brushing the skin result in the removal of dead surface skin cells to reveal newer, younger looking skin, brushing the skin also assists with the elimination of toxins by stimulating blood flow. This method is greatly appreciated for ridding of cellulite and in-grown hairs. By brushing off that layer of dead skin you unclog pores that open the way for waste material to exit the body and nourishing skin creams to enter the body. Dry body brushing can also improve the texture of your skin. The lymphatic system is cleansed through dry body brushing as well. So overall, beauty and health are enhanced. Once a day while skin is dry is all it takes, although you can perform dry body brushing two times a day if you’d like to.

Following body brushing, it is encouraged to do a body wrap of your choice or by your skin needs to increase absorbtion of minerals, herbs and vitamins. Because the dead, dry skin is removed, your skin's pores are clear and will absorb nutrients like a sponge. The warmth of the body wrap will increase absorbtion even more. These processes are encouraged not only in Spa, but even as an at-home remedy using a body brush, a heavily-concentrated herbal cream, sarane wrap, and a heating blanket. You will greatly appreciate the results, the way your skin feels, and the healing benefits of the herbs.

Infrared Body Wrap is mostly for weight loss and cellulite. An Infrared Body Wrap emit Far Infrared Rays and this heat therapy can aid in weight loss by speeding up the metabolic process of vital organs and endocrine glands, resulting in substantial caloric loss in one body wrap session. Sweating is part of the complex thermoregulatory process of the body that increases the heart rate, cardiac output, and metabolic rate. The process requires a large amount of energy and reduces excess moisture, salt and subcutaneous fat. Fat becomes water soluble at 110 degrees Fahrenheit and then allows the body to sweat out fats and toxins.

As every individual is different, fat loss from an infrared body wrap will depend upon the physiological make-up of that person. So the greater the excess weight someone has, the faster and more dramatic results will be seen. Some people may not experience a great weight loss, but will see an improved body appearance by losing inches or dress sizes. It is has been said that a 60 minute session can actually burn about 1500 hundred calories, same as being in a dry-sauna. Now let it be noted this really depends on the person’s particular body type and how well they can handle the heat. Benefits of using the Infrared body wraps are that it improves the appearance of cellulite, aids in minor pain relief, contours and shapes the body, and helps with inch and weight loss. Infrared Body Wraps work the same as infrared therapy, and is similar to the infrared energy found in FIR Saunas. The heat produced causes the heart rate to increase. This is a lot like when you are exercising, you get your heart rate up and over the course of the treatment you will also begin sweating.

Infrared body wrap heat can penetrate up to about 2 inches and can actually reach the bone. It is because of this deep penetration why an infrared body wrap can be so effective for sore muscles, sports injuries and even the aches and pains from arthritis as well as for the reduction of cellulite and weight loss.

An infrared body wrap is a body treatment that involves an infrared blanket and may or may not consist of a product application. An infrared blanket allows the client to relax while enjoying the benefits of infrared. When applying certain products to the body prior to the treatment, can accelerate the of the benefits. When using an infrared body wrap, it is important to understand how an infrared body works. Infrared is a radiant heat and infrared waves are light waves that are invisible. Because the heat produced by the infrared body wrap is radiant, it is more tolerable to you than the heat produced by forced air heat or even steam saunas. Our bodies absorb infrared heat which means it is heating your body up from the inside out. It is said that infrared heat can penetrate up to two inches. Because the infrared waves are absorbed this deep into the muscular and even skeletal systems, this form of heat can help to force waste and impurities in our bodies out through our largest organ; the skin.
