At the beginning of the treatment, the user places their feet in the Ion Spa, which will be filled half-way with warm water and sea salt. When the system is switched on and the array immersed in water, the unit creates an electrolytic flow (a flow of electrons), which imparts to the water a bio-energetic field, which allows a gentle bio-energetic resonance to travel through the body. The water in the foot spa becomes an extension of the water in the body, from which it is separated by nothing more substantial than a thin membrane – the skin.
Bio-energetic stimulation has a positive effect on microcirculation. The microcirculation is the part of the body’s fluid circulation directly involved in the interchanges of substances between the blood and tissues of the body. Microcirculation plays a very important role in regulating both the supply of Oxygen and nutrients to the tissues and proper excretion of waste products out of the body.

How does it help the body to Detox?

Why do we have to add salt to the water?
To aid conductivity, the electrolysis process requires that an ionized solution be used to complete an electric circuit between two electrodes. The salt creates a frequency, which allows the array to work.
How does the array work?
The IonSpa system generates a continuous current, which is delivered through two electrodes built into a housing called an “array”. The passage of the electric current across the water produces ionization. Positively charged ions in the conductive electrolytic solution will move toward the cathode and the negatively charged ions towards the anode. This migration of ions through the electronic solution (i.e the water in the foot spa) constitutes the electric current within the foot spa/bath. This migration of electrons to the anode, then back to the cathode via the wiring and the generator, constitutes the current in the remainder of the circuit, external to the foot spa. This flow of electrons is from the negative pole, the cathode, towards the positive pole, the anode.
Why Does the Water Change Color?
When toxins leave our bodies they are clear, i.e. perspiration. The toxins from our bodies react with the ionized water causing colour change. Similarly, toxins already contained in the water react to cause some colour change also. If the machine is run without a saline solution and without feet in the water then no colour change will occur. If it is run with a saline solution in the water but no feet, a lemon/orange colour usually occurs. This colour will vary slightly depending on the water quality and chemical content in your area.

Can I get electrocuted from the array in the water?
The array in the water only carries 2.5 amps, so is safe for everybody.
Should I use the machine if I am taking medication?
Our research so far has found no evidence that any type of medication is affected by the use of IonSpa system. However if you are concerned, you should consult your physician. If you have a pacemaker, have had an organ transplant, are pregnant or suffer from psychotic episodes or epileptic seizures; you should not use the machine.

A person taking medication should not hesitate to use the system. The IonSpa treatment stimulates only the natural bodily function of excretion, so supports only the release of toxins and other impurities, which, for whatever reason, the body’s cells have allowed to build up. The treatment will not stimulate the body to excrete any vitamins, minerals, nutrients or medication carried in the body pending absorption.
The IonSpa foot spa is cleaned thoroughly after each use. The foot spa liners protect the foot spa and insures there is no cross contamination. However the foot spa will be cleaned out after each individual Detox. The array is also disinfected in cleaning fluid for the same reason.
